Large compostable safety bag and the EN13432 standard
In line with industrial compostable packaging standard EN13432, this bag meets the following criteria:
- Disintegration - after 12 weeks, a minimum of 90% of the bag's material must pass through a 2mm x 2mm sieve.
- Biodegradability - every product component must be biodegradable (into CO2, water and biomass), with CO2 levels reaching 90% of control sample levels after six months.
- Compost quality and ecotoxicity - composted material must meet strict limits for potentially toxic elements (e.g. mercury, lead) and must not negatively affect compost quality (pH, salinity etc.).

Due to the compostable nature of the material used to make this bag, to preserve product quality, please store in a cool, dry place away from heat, humidity, direct sunlight or moisture and use within 12 months.
Compostable safety bags - how to dispose
Please dispose of these compostable bags in your food waste bin after use. Here, they will be transported to an industrial composting unit, where they are designed to biodegrade within six months. The bags can also be composted at home, but this process will take longer than six months and will vary according to composting conditions.
If composting is not available, please dispose of these bags in your domestic waste collection. They are not suitable for recycling.
