EN13432 - the compostable standard

This bag is made from material that conforms to the EN13432 industrial composting standard:

• Material must biodegrade into tiny pieces so that, after 12 weeks, at least 90% can fit through a 2x2mm mesh
• At least 90% of the bag's film must break down into CO2, water and biomass within six months
• Material must meet safety limits for volatile matter, fluorine and 10 heavy metals, including copper, lead and mercury
• Packaging should not adversely affect compost quality - as determined by ecotoxicity tests - once added

Storing compostable bags - important information

To ensure product quality is maintained, please store these bags in their original packaging in a cool, dry place - away from heat or direct sunlight - and use within 12 months.

How should I dispose of compostable peel & seal bags?

This product is designed to break down in industrial composting conditions within 12 weeks, so please place in your organic/food waste bin if available (check locally for recycling options). It is also suitable for home composting, although this will most likely take longer than 12 weeks (timescales will vary depending on disposal conditions).
