How to seal this mailing bag - please note

For a permanent seal, this mailing bag should be sealed and left at room temperature for several hours before posting. On initial sealing, the adhesive seal will only be semi-permanent, due to the compostable material involved.

C5 compostable black mailing bag - features

Bag designed to disintegrate in 12 weeks and biodegrade in six months in an industrial composting unit.
Also suitable for home composting. Timescale will vary according to disposal conditions, but will likely take longer.

EN13432 - the compostable packaging standard

This mailing bag complies with EN13432, by conforming to the following standards:

Minimum 90% of material breaks down into carbon dioxide (CO2), water and minerals within six months
After 12 weeks, 90% of material (minimum) must be in pieces small enough to fit through a 2x2mm mesh
Material does not exceed limits for fluorine, volatile matter and 10 heavy metals
Compost quality must not be adversely affected by the addition of this material

Storage instructions - black compostable mailers

Store away from heat sources, sunlight, humidity or moisture and use within 12 months.

How to dispose of compostable packaging

You can dispose of these compostable bags - and suitable contents - in your food waste collection bin or home composting unit. If neither of these is possible, please place in your regular domestic waste. Not suitable for recycling.
