Products on our website carrying this icon are labelled with a printed warning notice, or PWN for short.
Printed warning notices are designed to alert customers to the risk of suffocation posed by a polythene bag or a glassine paper bag. In particular, they are designed to alert parents or guardians of the danger posed towards infants or children if left unsuperivsed with one of these bags.
PWNs are often an essential requirement for any polythene bag used when trading via a third-party seller programme, such as Fulfilled by Amazon. The specific text on a PWN may vary, but the word 'Warning' or 'Danger' must be prominent.
Ofter used on a product in conjunction with air holes to increase product safety, a typical PWN would read something like this:
Warning: To avoid danger of suffocation, keep this plastic bag away from babies and children. Do not use this bag in cribs, beds, carriages or play pens. This bag is not a toy.
Some Polybags products are labelled with a PWN in multiple-languages.
